For months you’ve been drowned in work’s demands,

I resisted, understood the official commands.

And with a hundred reasons at home, urgent,

I resisted, anxious and yet behaved like a gent. 

I dreamed of trips, just you and I,

Under open skies, where dreams could fly.

On the beach, of the ocean, with sun's gleams,

Kissing so softly, on the salty skin.

You wearing my shirt in a hurry, not to miss the rising sun,

And me rushing to take that shot, happiness just begun. 

Nurturing a deep connection, in all its might, 

But fate, sharpening her nails, stupified!!!

A stark departure of dreams, surprisingly daunting,

A slap on the lover's face, shockingly haunting.

To the hills you’ve flown, to a distant valley,

A taunt on me, like a small balance sheet doesn't tally.

Spotty calls, untimely messages, and silence deep,

My heart aches, and in longing it weeps.
